Drone Camera Pitch CalculatorOVERVIEW Of Drone Gimbal Pitch Settings for 90 Degree purpendicular setting for various Roof Pitches
Developed by: Jerald Smith of Technology Surveys & Inspections
——–
SkyAngle calculates the exact DJI gimbal tilt angle for any
residential roof pitch (1:12 through 12:12) so your camera
faces the roof surface squarely at 90 degrees purpendicular to roof pitch — giving you sharp, undistorted
inspection images without guesswork.
All values follow the DJI gimbal convention:
0° = Camera horizontal (pointing straight ahead)
-45° = Camera at 45° below horizontal (oblique)
-90° = Camera at nadir (pointing straight down)
Varies = Nadir-equivalent (perpendicular to roof surface)

STEP 1 — SELECT YOUR ROOF PITCH
—————————————————————-
Use the slider or type a value in the Rise field to set your
pitch. The format is X:12, where X is the rise in inches for
every 12 inches of horizontal run.
Examples:
4:12 = 4 inches of rise per 12 inches of run
6:12 = 6 inches of rise per 12 inches of run
12:12 = 12 inches of rise per 12 inches of run (45°)
You can also tap any of the common-pitch shortcut buttons
(2:12, 3:12, 4:12 … 12:12) for instant one-tap selection.
